Platelet Rich Plasma Hair Loss

Our hair is an integral part of our appearance, yet a surprising number of men and women suffer from hair thinning and hair loss, which can result in a lack of self-confidence and self-esteem. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, is a process by which growth factors found naturally in blood platelets are used to increase circulation to the hair follicles, inducing follicle stem cells to shift from dormant to active, which stimulates the process of hair production. The treatment involves a number of small injections of plasma into the top of your scalp.

In short, PRP uses the natural growth chemicals found in your own blood to trigger hair follicles on your head to start growing again.
PRP therapy is a recently developed treatment that uses the absolute latest techniques in hair re-growth. Its advanced method is grounded in strong scientific research and it has been proven to thicken hair, trigger re-growth and prevent further thinning.
Whilst PRP is relatively new to the beauty industry, it has been widely used over the last decade in various well respected fields, such as orthopaedics, sports medicine, general medicine and dentistry.

PRP therapy uses your own blood to stimulate hair re-growth.

One treatment takes approximately 1 hour during which time a topical aesthetic can be applied to your head to make the process as comfortable for you as possible.

A sample of blood will be taken from your arm, to be placed in a centrifuge machine. This machine will be spun in order to separate out the platelet rich plasma, which can then be applied to the scalp via a number of small injections. This accelerates the natural follicular regeneration of dormant or dying follicles.

Results start to be seen between 1 and 2 months after the first treatment. You will then be required to repeat treatments in order to maintain and improve on the results.

A maintenance session once a year is then recommended.

PRP produces surgical level results with a non-surgical procedure.
